(...) Yeah! I'm starting to run out of shelves! I was looking at replacing the silver panels with red ones from the 8448, turn it into a Ferrari, but you need 3 8448s (or hit brickbay) to do that! ROSCO (23 years ago, 16-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Apparently, they've done them in silver... Has anybody tried building a DeLorean yet? I know someone POV-ray'd a regular brick one, but what about a working technic one?      (...) I must admit I was very disappointed that TLC have never done anything with this feature which must have been in their minds when they designed the gear.      (...) I did that with one of the big yellow gears from the 70's when I was a kid.          Re: 2 speed gearbox for Silver Champion —Ross Crawford

And it was really stable - the ring round the edge of the yellow gear slid on bricks, stopping the whole thing from tilting as the cam rotated. And I had to use string to (...)
