Is there some secret technique to it? I'm talking about the thin semi-rigid tubing that was used in the Podracer sets for the "reins" to the engines. I've got them in mind for a current project, but I'd like them straight, and most of mine are (...) (23 years ago, 8-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) and (...) and (...) Ok, here's what I do :-) You are correct in saying these things are almost never straight, in fact I think the key to their use is to assume that they will *never* be straight. Look at them as splines with the only means (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) They are hollow, so you could insert a straigt wire of a more rigid material, maybe a thin type of knitting needle (the ones used for socks, pointed at both ends) Maybe it even helps to let a tube reinfored this way rest for a couple of days. (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

One thing I would suggest trying (on a tube you can afford to loose!) is to put a piece of wire (or whatever) in the tube, and then put it in a sunny place for a day. Somewhere like a well lit window-sill. Allow it to cool by itself at the end of (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

Hello all, (...) tube (...) How about these technic bricks 1 x 2 with hole. You can put them thru these. Probably they will not end up straight but atleast not bend. Of course you have to leave it a couple of days to rest... Greetings Maico Arts (23 years ago, 24-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)
