Re: New technic MOC: Gecko Seven —Neil Everett
Nice model Fredrik! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with weight problems, well not me personally, but with my technic cars! I find that I spend more time working out how to get the suspension to support my models than any other part of the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New technic MOC: Gecko Seven —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Thanks! (...) Yes, this is a problem with large Technic vehicles. I've previously solved this by making sure that the shocks connect as far out as possible on the suspension arms, by making sure that they are vertical and by simply adding more (...)         Re: New technic MOC: Gecko Seven —Neil Everett
Fredrik, In fact, some of the 60's Grand Prix cars used a front suspension set-up where the upper suspension arm was cantilevered, ie the arm extended inwards from the inner pivot, and the spring was then attached below this.      In lugnet.technic, Fredrik Glöckner writes: [snip] (...) Are you talking about the "slot" cars toy? they run on a plastic track with metal rails imbedded into it? I am not talking about the HO scale that is around today but a larger scale car. Each (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New technic MOC: Gecko Seven —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Ah, yes. That's what I was thinking about. I don't think mine were Scalextric brand, but it was basically the same thing. (...) Mine were small scale, about the same scale as the LEGO adventurer's cars, I'd say. While I didn't have too much (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New technic MOC: Gecko Seven —Steven Vore
the generic term is "slot cars" due to the fact that they have a tab or pin which rides in a "slot" in the track. the slot provides power and, of course, steering. -- -Steven "Nothin' But Net!"
