WOW!!  That is an amazing piece of work.  Have you figured out if there is a
way to do it with a Technic 9V battery box, such as the one included in the
Technic Space Shuttle?  One thing I have noticed with some motors is that
they will turn - or at least appear to turn - faster in one direction than
another.  Sometimes they will make a lot more noise in one direction than
the other.

I'm not sure what exactly this means, but are there any good reasons to
favor the motor's 'faster' or 'slower' direction?

Others have come up with very clever self regulating compressor designs, • if

I've just put a brief description and some photos of my new "pneumatic and
electric hand controller with integrated on demand compressor" doohickey • on
my website. It uses the switch on the small black 9V battery box as part • of
the pressure limit mechanism:

(...) I'm sure it is possible, as the switch on it is also spring loaded and has a "motor on but switch not locked in place" setting. You'll still have to do some lego modification by soldering at least one other cable directly to the battery (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
