Looking for 16 tooth clutch gear and arms —Kevin Hayes
Hi all, Does anyone know if any new sets contain the 16 tooth clutch gear and the arms that fit with it? I'm looking for the 8448 Car, but it seems to be nowhere. Thanks, Kevin (24 years ago, 27-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) This one: (URL) it rotates freely around the axle but has tiny little teeth on the edge of the centre that can "grab" an adjacent arm. Thanks for any help you can provide. Cheers, Kev (24 years ago, 27-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) I don't think that any of the sets currently available come with this. It can be somewhat hard to come by a Super Street Sensation these days but you might be able to get one from an auction (since it just sold out prices are still pretty low (...)      The gear is called a conical gear. It was a part of the gear service pack sold by S@H. They do not show them on their site but you could ask on the phone. Check here for the plate with toothing. (URL) tells you the set numbers. -- Bob Fay (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

Goodbye splines. (Re: Looking for 16 tooth clutch gear and arms) —Amnon Silverstein
I think Pitsco has a pack that includes them too. I have around a dozen I think I got that way. Better stock up, I think Lego is completely phasing out all parts with the spline system. The splined long thin plates are gone (what will future (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Actually I also thought that these splined parts are pretty much going out of production, but the strange thing was that, when I sent a bunch of older broken elements for replacement, many of which had the spline system, the new ones actually (...)      (...) I'd guess the studless beams are cheaper to produce. The technic bricks look like they require a more complicated mold, because the pieces have cavities on all four sides: the open studs on top, the hollow underside, and the holes through the (...)    If you would like me to buy a 8448 for you: there are several stores around here still selling it. Last friday I've seen at least 4 of them. Klaas H. Meijaard - Zetten - The Netherlands Lugnet 291 ---...--- Kevin Hayes schreef: (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Looking for 16 tooth clutch gear and arms —Kevin Hayes
(...) Thanks for the offer. I'm going to keep looking in Canada (Ottawa, specifically) for now. I fear that the price to make it worth your while to ship it to Canada may cost too much for me right now. But I'll keep you in mind if I can't find any. (...)
