I dunno if this is old news or not but bionicle is at shop.lego.com. not for sale yet. they have the mini guys there too. I love them. bionicles are so cool.   Identifying defective pnumatic damper/spring/shock

I want to buy some resale pneumatic shocks. Is there a way to identify the defective early version? I'm not sure if Lego would send me new ones if I didn't get them from a kit myself, or if these were replaced once already. Thanks, -Amnon (25 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8880 Super Car motorization ideas?

(...) Thanks for the information. It seemed that many of the old topics said that the drive train is too complex and therefore creates a lot of friction and that the transmission system is somewhat reversed, which further increases the dificulty of (...)   Re: technic beams

(...) Actually they do have a few beams, but not nearly enough. Parts of the main chassis are made of beams (at least on 8457 and 8458, not sure about 8279) but the rest of the vehicle is all anglular axle connectors, flexible axles, etc. As for the (...)   technic beams

Still no large technic beams in bulk. Did anyone notice that in the latest catalog not one technic set fetures regular technic bricks. They all have the angle bricks. Also what happened to functions in technic sets? Yeah yeah I know if you want (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: How rare is...

(...) I have one in Gray, 2x4. I believe it came with my Universal Motor set 901, and is one of the few pieces of it I have left. That set also had the Translucent white axles, I just found a half of one in my "old Lego" box when I was confirming I (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Unknown Technic Promo?

Dude! I was going to post the same question but can't find the directions now. I have that set and the instruction sheet. I live in the States though. I'm thinking it was a General Mills thing but I don't know, Mom got it for me back in the 80's. (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.promo, lugnet.technic)

  Unknown Technic Promo?

Re: Backlash in Lego Gear Trains

One other solution I forgot, that I have used with some success for Mindstorms: Make your device smart, so that it keeps track of its own backlash and compensates for it. I made a device that did this. It would keep track of an estimate of how (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Micro-motors and fiber optics

I want to get my hands on some micro-motors and also a fiber optics system. I know the Space Shuttle comes with both these but it's quite an expensive set and I also need more than one micro-motor. I also know about the Extreme Creatures set which (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Make-your-own differential

A while ago, I saw a post about constructing a working differential out of standard parts (i.e. medium sized pulleys, connector pegs and *no* gears). I cannot find the post and I was wondering if anyone knows how to do it. (25 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: How rare is...

(...) I was(am) lucky enough to actually have it :) Hate to rub it in, but it was indeed a great set and I spent hours with it as a child.
