Actually they do have a few beams, but not nearly enough. Parts of the main
chassis are made of beams (at least on 8457 and 8458, not sure about 8279)
but the rest of the vehicle is all anglular axle connectors, flexible axles,
etc. As for the various Star Wars droids, you're probably right. I don't
think these come with a lot (if any) beams.
As for the functions, good point. Maybe it's just the 2000 line (1999 line
wasn't very good either, but the 8446 model stood out in terms of
functions); hopefully they might add in some things like a third-generation
crane, second-generation backhoe, etc. Some ships/planes would also be nice
for a change.

| (...) There are precicly 0 normal technic beams in either the 8001 or 8002. (...) If you can find one get an 8448, thats the best technic set available atm. (24 years ago, 31-Dec-98, to lugnet.technic)
