No, i think there was a set with 2 either 12 or 10 long white axles... Kevin Loch used them in his radio tower (can't find a picture this second though) along with lots of red ones... (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic)

The space shuttle has #8 and #4 white axles. some set I opened recently had white #5 axles I think (without the stop disc). I used 12 of the forklifts on clearance (...) Oh yes, you're right. I remember that there is at least one "Technic Axle 5.5 With Stop" (URL) the ZNAP set: "3571 Blackmobile with Motor" (URL) may be in others as well. Yesterday I saw boxes of 8008, the Technic Stormtrooper, at the nearby TRU. I bought one, and when I opened the box, surpringly I found not a Stormtrooper, but a 8007 C-3P0 inside. No matter. (...) Yes, these are hollow 1 piece ABS wheels (32146). They first appeared last year in the 3057 Create 'n' Race set. I suspect the reason that they are in the 8241 set is cost.
