You mention that the compressor for the bipedal walker was too weak to power
the model properly, but I've managed to build some pretty serious
compressors, albeit with several motors. The one for the excavator was
powered by two old style 9V motors, and is capable of producing a pretty
good flow of air which is powerful enough to blow the hoses off the
cylinders if you set the pressure cutoff point too high. I've actually found
that the old 9V motors are superior to the new 9V gear motors when it comes
to compressors... I suspect they are actually more powerful in general cases
too.

Hmm I'll have to try that out now that I've got my controlcenter. Your
compressor is one pump pr. motor? I've managed four pumps with one of
the new motors, but with significant loss of speed at high pressure
(and not quite as noisy as the ones you use in your videos:)) I'm
tinkering with a design that disables some of the pumps at high
pressure, wich should give a lot of air flow at low pressure, but the
possibility of a higher max. pressure. My first problem is to figure
out how to construct a swich or gear changer with hysteresis.

Kind regards

Ross, John: I've tinkered about with loads of variations on the compressor design, but my measurements are pretty subjective, certainly compared with the tests done by CSSoh on his pneumatic page.
