  Re: Pre Dark Age MOC's

(...) From a technical point of view, I think the US truck is the best, but my favourite has to be the blue and red tipper, simply because I prefer the appearance of European trucks. There is a mobile crane in the background of one of the pictures; (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Improving Mindstorms R2???

I'm working a few of these ideas, but basically I was annoyed at how *SMALL* it was (the DDK) so I've started making a "life" sized R2 simmilar to Eric Harshburger's and the one at Legoland, but this won't be a static sculpture. The head will turn, (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

Re: Tower crane (WAS: Adjustable 4 wheel steering)

(...) about it. Dennis' crane is truly incredible - I am humbled. Dennis and Jennifer have set the bar so high, (fifteen feet?!?) that I can't help but feel like there's no point even trying with MOC. SRC StRuCtures - only about a third the size of (...) (...) <snip> (...) I look forward to seeing your "more functional" R2... another thing that would be cool is if you could make him "waddle" when in bipedal mode like he does in the films...   Improving Mindstorms R2???

I just nabbed a second copy of the Mindstorms Droid Developer Kit[1], and I've been thinking about how to make a better R2, and what the functions should be. Then I realized I wasn't even sure what functions the reel R2 has... So, in the interests (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

Re: Tower crane (WAS: Adjustable 4 wheel steering)

(...) I found with my mobile crane that the limiting factor really started to be the strength of the boom - 6 batteries at a fair distance from the fulcrum represents quite a substantial load moment with respect to lego beams, and you can actually (...)
