(...) Those treads are a Dacta item. You can bulk order them. They are somewhat slippery for use as treads. They are like the chain links with an extra bar molded over the top of each link. I think Dacta calls them conveyer belt links. (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Lego customer service is really good about this (as has been written before on this newsgroup). This is a known problem with this motor. On the suggestion of the various posters, I called up Lego Customer Service (number listed on their web site and (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)
