  Re: Motor Sticking

Rob, Did you ever get any answers to this query? I also have three of the newer Technic motors that have seized. (Out of a collection of about 10 motors that's a 30% failure rate - not good!) I suspect that this may occur with lack of use rather (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Steering and driving.

(...) I took a look at 8660 right now, and I'm sure you want to use the same principle, but not the same size, right? You'll probably want to use Supercar size wheels? I'll agree with you that you'll need to power more than one axle to get it going. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  LEGO Service.

Good news everyone! It's still possbile to order from LEGO Service, at least in Sweden. I had my doubts 'cause of the Power Packs etc.. And - just to bug your you American fellows - it has always been possible to order pneumatics here in Sweden :P I (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Steering and driving.

(...) I never tried it out so I can't tell about the friction. (...) Perhaps that's an option. Don't think the bulkyness matters. (...) Nah, it ain't to ridgid, hence the other version above. But it's made out of mostly basic Technic parts, or could (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Favorite Technic sets

(...) I can't bring myself to like the 8480, as I found it a pain to build. I also dislike the fibre optics - they are a little naff. Apart from that, when built it is quite good. It is also good to be able to put minifigs in it - it is a pity more (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Steering and driving.

(...) this. However, the setup was much too bulky, and the friction inherent in the bevel gear transmissing made it mostly useless. So I'm not a fan of this kind of setup. Perhaps you can achieve less friction by using crown gears rather than bevel (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Steering and driving.

Hi! How to make a wheel mount that has both steering and driving capabilities? Without using the special parts from 8880 Super Car. I have made a couple of tests: (URL) thing is that I would like to build a vehicle in the lines of 8660 with six (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Favorite Technic sets

(...) I'll have to go for three categories, look, function and parts :) So, here they are: No.1 in looks: 8448 Super Street Sensation No.1 in parts: 8479 BarCode Multi-Set No.1 in function: 8480 Space Shuttle The all-time Technic set would be THE (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: What is with the Technic Stormtrooper?

(...) When I rechecked all the sets introduced under the name of "technic" (it has some clues in it isn't it?..:-) during the whole 22 years, I saw that I can't agree you. The whole idea behind the Lego is "building things out of pieces -- nothing (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Favorite Technic sets

Good question! I would say my top three are: 1. 8001 - Star Wars Battle Droid - Great looks, great functionality. As perfect a set as I seen from Lego. 2. 8480 - Space Shuttle - Most sophisticated in functionality. Challenging to build. 3. 8462 - (...) (25 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)
