Rob, Did you ever get any answers to this query? I also have three of the newer Technic motors that have seized. (Out of a collection of about 10 motors that's a 30% failure rate - not good!) Good question! I would say my top three are: 1. 8001 - Star Wars Battle Droid - Great looks, great functionality. As perfect a set as I seen from Lego. 2. 8480 - Space Shuttle - Most sophisticated in functionality. Challenging to build. 3. 8462 - (...) (25 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)
