Anyway, my list from sets I have (and I only have 12 Technic sets): 850 Forklift 8848 Power truck 8286 3 in 1 car I guess I'm the first to include pre-8000 sets. I love the forklift (...) Good question! I would say my top three are: 1. 8001 - Star Wars Battle Droid - Great looks, great functionality. As perfect a set as I seen from Lego. 2. 8480 - Space Shuttle - Most sophisticated in functionality. Challenging to build. 3. 8462 - (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

(...) I can't bring myself to like the 8480, as I found it a pain to build. I also dislike the fibre optics - they are a little naff. Apart from that, when built it is quite good. It is also good to be able to put minifigs in it - it is a pity more (...) (24 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

The most popular ones here appear to be the 8480 Space Shuttle and the 8880 Super Car. The space shuttle is an outstanding model with seven functions, complex gear/axle networks and many useful (special and generic) pieces. I don't own the 8880 so I (...) (24 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)
