   Tobbe, IIRC, the 12V motor was similar to the old 4.5V motor (around the same vintage), of which I have one, and which is similar in power to the 9V geared motors. The 4.5V one (and I think the 12V one also?) only has 4 holes for the really old (...) (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

I tried to power the 8860 with it, without the benefit of the external gear reduction box specified in the instructions, and it required so much gearing down that it moved abysmally slowly.    That's what I was thinking too... (...) similar (...) These are the motors from the Train sets of the 70's. these motors are great to drive your technic creation. They have an internal gearing indeed and these also have 4000 rpm. But when the motors (...) (24 years ago, 8-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)
