(...) I don't know about the agitator, but with enough gears, you can speed up the rotation from a single motor quite easily. I'm wondering if anyone has ever given this a go - specifically, the top-loading variety. Of particular interest would be how to recreate the agitator gearing mechanism so that it moves back and forth separately from the bowl. Then there is the (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.technic)

TRU in Fresh Pond Shopping Mall (Alewife, MA) had the larger sets (as of yesterday), i.e. #3591, #3552 and #3571 as well as some 3581 Formula Z Car in Storage Box (no motor). I bought a few, but left many (at least 20 I guess). Note that TRU online (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.znap, lugnet.technic, lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.robotics)

I just visited Legoland Billund, and they have a clearance sale for the 8880 Supercar (the black one), which amounts to approx $100 USD. They had about a dozen sets; I bought two of them for myself.
