  Re: Where you all at?

(...) SPEAKING of TECHNIC... I noticed yesterday (thanks to your blog post on LEGO.com, actually, Erik), the The LEGO Group has stopped claiming TECHNIC as a trademark. Further, they're not insistent on fully capitalizing it any longer (I first saw (...) (15 years ago, 12-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Where you all at?

(...) I do most of my chatting at (URL) Eurobricks> which has a dedicated (URL) Technic> forum. There is a pretty good amount of posting and quite a few Technic fans post there, including myself. blakbird (15 years ago, 12-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Where you all at?

(...) TBs is not only a great source for information but the post comments are almost a forum by themselves. It's just a bit harder to stay up to date with everything because so far I haven't found a way of subscribing to comments without making one (...) (15 years ago, 12-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Where you all at?

(...) :) I'm thinking to add a discussion forum to TechnicBRICKs for too long!... :( But actually hardly have the time to post what I'd like and have in queue, so a forum is just another item in the queue, as it would mean a considerable time (...) (15 years ago, 12-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Hi Tobbe, Long time, no talk ;o) (...) Pretty much indeed, except for some activity in CAD section, main reason why I'm still here... (...) Little more to offer (TBs is very good, but it's not a direct replacement!). NXTasy forum is vary (...) (15 years ago, 11-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Where you all at?

Hi there! So I'm getting the gears running again and LUGNET has died, more or less. Where have all the Technic buffs gone to do their chit-chat? I've found this blog (URL) which keep me sort of in the loop... (15 years ago, 11-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Linked cranks mechanical puzzle

(...) So do I... Now I just have to find how to align again the fingers without dismantling everything ;o) Philo (15 years ago, 7-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Linked cranks mechanical puzzle

(...) Really nice. And thanks for the LDraw instructions. I really like building this kind of contraptions and mechanisms. Jetro (15 years ago, 6-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Linked cranks mechanical puzzle

Here is my current favourite MOC: (2 URLs) It's a Lego implementation of an amazing mechanical puzzle invented by Oskar van Deventer and Bram Cohen, as seen here: (URL) I can't improve on the explanation given in this second video - just watch it!   Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) Yes, there are quite a few possible variations on this mechanism. There is even at least one in an official model: (URL) Hope you get it working. I always like a purely mechnical solution :) (15 years ago, 3-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) Hmm, I had dabbled with a similar solution, but inverted (with the motor driving the bottom gear and the two side gears the two outputs, but discarded it for reasons that escape me at the moment. I must investigate this further. Thanks! Owen. (15 years ago, 2-Feb-10, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Some help or advice requested

Here is yet another possible solution that I have found effective for something very similar (a vehicle that reverses its direction when it hits an obstacle). This one is purely mechanical (no electrical switch needed). (2 URLs) The mechanism relies (...) (15 years ago, 31-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technicopedia Update

I've just posted a new update to (URL). This is an unusual update in that it does not add any new years of models (although I am working on 1995). Instead it makes a number of improvements to existing information. Reformatted some older pages to (...) (15 years ago, 28-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic, FTX) !

(...) It would depend on how much of the dead band you eliminate. Cleaning up bookmarks I came a cross this which might work: (2 URLs) Jetro (15 years ago, 27-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) A nice solution, but I doubt very much if my tray could push the pendulum upright (especially since the total angular travel would be the limited movement of the pendulum _plus_ the angle that the tri-blades had rotated). However, for (...) (15 years ago, 27-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) <snip> (...) I've got a slightly different solution, where the tray tips an inverted pendulum right and left. The pendulum's momentum/weight flip the polarity reverser. The tri-blade bounds the inverted pendulum's swing. The first three steps (...) (15 years ago, 26-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) You're quite right in that there's nothing in the pictures to suggest that having the having the motor running after the tray reaches its stop would be a bad idea. However, that would be disastrous for the rest of the machine - think of a (...) (15 years ago, 25-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) ... (...) Well, seeing your pictures, I can't help wondering: do you actually need the tray to change direction as soon as it hits the end? If not, you can use a much easier solution: just power its motor for a given amount of time in one (...) (15 years ago, 25-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)
