A while ago, one of our geared 9 volt motors (the new grey motor) stopped working. I just chalked it up to attrition and sort of forgot about it. Today another one stopped working. After reading snippits about these two sets all over the newsgroups, I decided that I would call lego myself and get the straight dope. This is what I found out: The Power Puller 8457 is due out in Aug. and will go for $109 The Silver Champion 8458 (...) (25 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.technic)

(...) They're the same. You get 6 of the wheel hubs (in yellow) to fit as well in the 8257. There are also lots of liftarms. In fact, I bought my 8257 for specially these parts to supplement the RIS. (25 years ago, 23-May-00, to lugnet.technic)

www.lego.com/roboriders/ The web page is up, and get this - the cans they come in are made of color change plastic, and when you get them cold it shows you a secret code that you bring back to the website to get downloads!
