Check Out The 8285 —Adrian Egli
I was browsing brickshelf and saw this- (URL) Sort of a cross between the MT 5571 Big Black Cat and the Technic 8868. Adr. (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Jonathan Wilson
Are these things in his gallery MOCs or real sets? If they are MOCs, how did he do the boxes? (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Anders Isaksson
(...) Anything can be done with ray-tracing. I like this one by Coby: (URL) Anders Isaksson, Sweden BlockCAD: (2 URLs) (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Adrian Egli
(...) That got me too. When I first saw the 8285, my first impression was some photoshop gag. But then I checked out BrickLink and saw 8285 listed as a 2006 set(just the pic they have is tiny). Here: (URL) his MOCs with an actual set sounds like an (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Tommy Eriksson
(...) I think it's for real, as you said bricklink mentions it as well. (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Vineet Honkan
This set looks really interesting! It looks more realistic than the previous technic tow truck, plus the engine has a little fan-piece! (It's good to see that again). (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Christopher Deraleau
(...) Just because Bricklink lists it as a 2006 set, doesn't mean it's going to be produced. I'd wait for a display or showing of similar from Lego to say it's actually going to be made... until then, don't get your hopes up. (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Andy Evans
(...) I agree Vineet. It looks like a cross between the Airtech Claw Rig (8868) and the Tow Truck (8462). It even looks like it uses the large shocks in the rear as jack stands. My guess is this set will be out in July / August if prior year (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Keith Hui
(...) My thoughts: Looks even more like a smaller version (because of barcode truck wheels) of (URL) this tow truck by grazi> which is in turn based on 5571. Which brings the question... Is 8285 a NK product? If this is not real, how come the (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Andre Potvin

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Bryan Wong
(...) Wow, looks like they finally included dual wheels for the rear axles! (The 5571 Black Cat looked silly with single wheels in the back) -Bryan (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Check Out The 8285 —Nathan Bell
(...) It looks perfect and it probably has a lot of pneumatic pistons. The scale is 1/17th or 1/18th which matches the projects I am working on. Work is busy, but seeing that upcoming set was a breath of fresh air! It looks 1/2 like Model team and (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)
