I would love a way to mount other mCUs, as the 3 RCXs, and batteries
to support them to get some of the same functionality can be very
heavy and bulky.

I agree with a standard electrical connector - I actually had an idea
for a more advanced Lego electrical connector anyway. How about Lego
providing a standard module for connecting active sensors to the RCX -
one that contains the Diode Bridge and filter circuits?

What I also always wanted (not quite non-Lego), was large panels
(studless - pin mounted), preferrable made of sheet aluminium with the
studless connectors around the edges - made in standard Lego
dimensions. The sheet would be thin-ish, and then bulked up for the
connectors. This would allow me to use it in far more interesting
ways, especially if curves and such were also provided - quarter turns
for example, with a standard Lego unit radius...

At the moment I'd like a device that connects Lego wires to standard
electrical
wire. Something like an electric brick with one of those connectors you get on
cheap hi-fi's where a spring loaded button allows you to insert the bare end
of
a wire.

I'd also like a camera mounting. It would have a metal screw on the top to fit
into the standard receptacle on the underside of a camera, a vertical piece
supporting it and some technic connector pins coming out at right angles so
you
could connect it.

I'm thinking of maybe constructing something out of one of those device's that
grip onto a desk and allow you to attach your camera. Has anyone done anything
like this?

Steve

Since the standard LEGO sensors have that circuitry built in, and if you put it in a seperate unit all you're doing is moving the circuitry from the sensor itself to a second enclosure. (...)
