Incidentally I figured out a way to get a 4 section boom in about 5.5 studs wide, so I will probably attempt a big brother for my AC100 some day. If anyone can get a 5 section boom inside 6 studs, please let me know!

And Rosco, can you show us please how did you build that 4-section boom? Maybe a 5-section boom can be built inside 6-7 studs using the same technique.

Hi Luis, the 4 section boom just uses plates and the 2x2 - 2x2 brackets to put another layer around the 3 section boom I used in my AC100.

I investigated using the 2x2 - 1x2 brackets which is thinner on one side and would mean I’d have studs out on all 4 sides, but I just couldn’t make it wrap tightly enough and remain strong enough.

It may be possible to do another layer inside 7 studs with the 2x2 - 2x2 brackets, and I may end up doing that, but it just looks a bit large.

(...) Vineet I saw the chassis of your crane... looks great (and huge!). I'm just waiting to see the rest of the crane. Keep on working.
