| | | Hi, I´m having a slight problem building the gearbox on the 8860... How many gears is it supposed to have? It is technically able to have 3, but if you follow the instructions its impossible to use more than 2. Check this scan of page 16 out and (...) (21 years ago, 27-Dec-03, to lugnet.technic)

Step 17--don't put the 2x3 plate in, instead, use a 2x2 plate and don't cover up the third space for the stick shift... Rest of the steps are fine. Hope (...) I think the reason for the cover was that the engine fairly rattles along when you push the car in the lowest gear, which is fine as long as you have built the (...) | | | | (...) Hi Joakim, The actual gearbox does have 3 gears, but according to the instructions it only uses 2 at a time.
