The chassis/suspension of the 4404 is built separately from the body.
In that way, it nearly mimicks real pick-up trucks that are built
body on frame. I think the challenge would be to rebuild the chassis
to incorporate a drivetrain, rear live-axle suspension, and steering,
while allowing it to fit under the original 4404 body (which IS beautiful).

Live-axle suspension and drivetrain seems not to be much of a challenge.
However, steering looks like it may be the real challenge, just by looking at
the pics available on the net. Using 8466 parts and making a Bigfoot/monster
truck seems like fun to me, but only if the transmission is retained and not
hanging a long distance below the frame, and a V6 or V8 engine placed in the
standard sized engine bay - possibly longer, if necessary. IMHO, that may be
more of a challenge.
