Re: The Big Crane At Brickfest

Geoffrey, As I don't have a digital camera, I haven't got any pictures concerning broken parts etc. Yet me explain the matter for the second time: the half bush turned completely into a hole of a technic beam. Recently I had the same problem to (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.modelteam)

(...) Just called Consumer Affairs or Shop@Home (doesn't really make a diff) they said the Williams F1 is selling in the US and they are currently out of them. They're getting another shipment in a few days, it sells for $129.99 --- almost the same (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Top 10 Technic Sets Of All Time

Re: Technic's Dead (was: I need Technic)

(...) I have to agree it is largely up to the definition of what Technic is today. I have been building technic sets since the late 70's. I started building them originally for 2 reasons. Firstly I considered myself at that time as too old to play (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Technic's Dead (was: I need Technic)

I can agree with your feelings of the Technic theme being slowly diluted with Bionicle, Throwbots and the like and the theme 'Technic' itself may indeed be dead but I am in a huge disagreement with idea that the newer Technic parts are in some way (...)   Re: Technic's Dead (was: I need Technic)

(...) While it might have been fun for US (as AFOL's), for the target market (8-16 y/o) it would have made things worse. Kids can't spend $200-300 per set. Also most shops can't / won't stock such expensive sets. Perhaps in the USA it would have (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Technic's Dead (was: I need Technic)

I'm not speaking from any real authority here but I seem to remember reading in a F1/Indy car racing mag that Williams had paired up with Lego to produce a more "real" F1 technic car. Meaning, more accurate and thus more complicated technic car. (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)
