  Re: Aviation Tractor MOC

Nice job Simon! I always like watching these machines at the airport too, did the spec sheets you received state what sort of horsepower and max speed these things have? As for the power problem, two 9V gear motors should be able to drive a machine (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Aviation Tractor MOC

I have just finally finished putting together a page for my latest MOC, one of those weird flat trucks used to tow planes. Originally I built it to enter the .technic towing challenge but it turned out a bit weak in the towing department so I (...)   Re: Toa Nuva have knees?

(...) Oh well, parts is parts. A bendy knee will be something to look for in the "Extreme Toa Nova Rad Spring Break 2003" line. (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Toa Nuva have knees?

(...) Well, we know that the CGI models and artwork for the original Toa took plenty of liberties with joints and range of motion that don't exist in the actual toys. I'm going to assume that remains the case until proven otherwise. (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Toa Nuva have knees?

(...) Unfortunately, I think its artistic license. According to a couple of the posts in the thread "NUVAs AVAILABLE TO PLAY WITH AT OUTLET STORES!, DOwntown Disney, FL" in General Discussion on BZ, the knees don't bend. John (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Toa Nuva have knees?

Judging only from some of the artwork in the back of the new sets' instruction manuals, it seems that the new legs on the Toa Nuva may have some kind of hinge-like knee joint. That would be a good thing. It's also possible that there is artistic (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: MOC: Minifig-scale mobile crane

(...) In the picture, it's just 2m (I'm fairly short!). I can raise it slightly higher, but then it's in danger of falling over backwards. (...) Yep. It's fairly rigid - but it sways quite a bit when the wind blows! With the jib attached, the boom (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.town)

  Re: MOC: Minifig-scale mobile crane

(...) Height in the picture is about 2m. I plan on extending the jib using 10L axles, to get it close to the max scale height for the LG1550 of about 3m. (...) Not tested yet 8?) In the SDWB configuration, it lifted the beam in the picture fairly (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.town)

  Re: MOC: Minifig-scale mobile crane

(...) I too would like to know the total height. Also, how much can it lift? I like models on a minifig scale. You have to be very creative to get all the fine details, but the overall model doesn't require quite as many bricks or as much time to (...)
