Advice needed: ask Santa for 8466 or not?

Assuming my loving partner would buy me a big set of Lego (Silver Champ last x-mas, 8448 birthday) there's really only one big set at the moment, and that's 8466, the off-roader. Now if I tell a bit about my thoughts about the previous two big cars, (...) (23 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic)

Great article on Bohrok and Va

There is a great article with some great pictures here: (URL) cleared up a lot of stuff for me. David (23 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Mata Nui bug?

(...) Just tried again. Started out once again with the letter for astrologer. Gave that to him (again), went underground to try to use the gnomon (again) but couldn't, as the sundial thing was already opened. Then headed over to Jala, talked with (...)   Re: Infected Mask Cam

(...) That problem can be solved in a couple of ways. Rotating electrical contacts, sensors that detect over-rotation or mounting the RCX on the camera itself. The method I chose was to mount the camera so securely to the desk that the pulleys (...) (23 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Infected Mask Cam

(...) I almost got him off, but a big hand moved the camera back. how many times can I turn that? Eventually it has to run out of wire and flip off the table. NICK (23 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Home-made One-way valve

(...) Somehow I'm a bit queasy about this business of "storing vacuum" in a tank. So I checked with the local supplier of industrial gases. If you need a tank of compressed air, that's no problem. But a tankful of vacuum, er that's not listed in the (...) (23 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

  Re: Infected Mask Cam

(...) Wow. When I controll it, am I actually moving the camera? How did you make it do that? I'm determined to move the camera until Makuta falls off. Then maybe I can look around without him in my way (: . NICK (23 years ago, 20-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Bohrok

(...) I'm content to wait until something is published, or failing that, I'm sure you can think of something plausible. The surefire method would be to ask a child. :) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Has anyone built a flying Lego airplane?

  Re: Mata Nui bug?

(...) All of my "bugged" characters got the Ensign from Jala *after* the new episode was installed. I _think_ the bug has been fixed. Did you try speaking to Jala again? (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Home-made One-way valve

Alternativeley you can continue using the valve with the old style pump and have an air tank (if you own two) on each side i.e. one that holds the vaccum and one that holds the pressureized air. but... theres still the problem of flipping the valve (...) Also, the external pressure is usually fairly fixed (atmospheric pressure) and there's a lower limit to the internal pressure (absolute vacuum), but no intrinsic upper limit (though it is limited by the strength of the tank). So I need something clearing up, on the Bohrok tube it shows their 'brain' or a mask coming out of them and being attached to the Toa so what exactly is this and what is its purpose? Tim (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)
