Set 8082 - motorized buildign set included both a micromotor and a car with mircromotorized wheel and rack steering. The motor is simply too slow and powerless to steer in any reasonable time. The mechanism also used rubber bands (URL) (23 years ago, 28-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

Is there a way to stop the motor from exerting force on the gear rack once the steering has reached its furthest point? i.e. How do you stop the steering mechanism from going to far? (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

Hello, When I see those very big cranes, I wonder how the pivoting points at the bottom of the large booms can hold it out. Are two or more beams with a technic axle enough to handle the enormous force ? I was wondering if it's possible to build (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

I made a three speed, fully mechanical, automatic transmission a few weeks ago, and put a description of it on a web page. I have two prototype/preproduction "devices" looking for a good home. 1. Generic RCX sensor adapter brick. This little 2x4 brick interfaces between the RCX sensor input and your own sensor design.
