(...) I don't think so, I think the 8857 is the US number for the european 857. (...) The wheels are from <set:8422>. I think they are the best motorcycle wheels made to date. The front wheel in <set:8417> is great but only for smaller scale. The (...) (24 years ago, 20-May-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic Wheels

It's hard to pick an overall favorite. For trucks I'd go for the old 24x43 as found in the first technics series (851 and 853). Just after looking at some pics and noticed two things: the old 857(motorbike with sidecar) was (re?) released as 8857, (...) (24 years ago, 20-May-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic Wheels

Way back when the 8848 "Power Truck" (U.S.) came out and first saw the 20x30; I fell in love with them. Used them on a lot of MOC. But Fredirk was saying the 68.8x24 on the 8479 Barcode have some real potential. I think LEGO is not taking advantage (...) (24 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic Wheels

(...) Yes, I agree with the Barcode Truck's wheels. They're very realistic looking. I also like the slightly larger ones found on two of the model team trucks, e.g. the black cat rig, no 5571. I also like the slick motor cycle wheels off 8422. (...) (24 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technic Wheels

(...) My favourite's the 20x30 but I'd like to see more of the tyre's on the barcode truck. They're pneumatic, have a realistic tread, have the correct height/width ratio and are a nice size. The hub doesn't look bad either. How many people know (...) (24 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.technic)
