(...) If you took a close look you could see that drive was provided by a geared motor under the cab. Raise/lower was powered by a geared motor in the right side pod. Skip forward back was by micro motor at the end of the arm. Tip/offload selector (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.technic)

(...) True, the triangulation of a real transport truck's structure would help make the trailer strong, but the weak point IMO would be the black pegs that connect all the pieces together. I saw it again in those scans from the toy show...it's apparently the ONLY new mindstorm offering coming down the pipe, and I know RIS 2.0 isn't coming until 'Fall 2001' so does this thing come out any earlier? Looking at Dennis Bosman's trucks I'd say it has to be possible, and you should use the tyres he's using: the old solid tyres. The big ones as found in 853 for the truck, and ones like in 8848 for the trailer. Duq "Jennifer Clark" (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)
