From what I've read, the 8459 is generally regarded as a pretty good set. Because I have only been into Technic for couple of years, my definition of a "new" set is whether the half-bushings have teeth or not. But from what I've read here, it seems (...) (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Actually the 8459 set is actually pretty new (1997) when compared to some others, but yeah; I would definitely recommend this one. I'm not sure about average auction prices but I saw an unopened one go for $125 US dollars on eBay a few days (...) (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) ...Related to Magic though was the big disaster they had with Antiquities (at least I think it was Antiquities), where the distribution of cards was not random.
