  Re: Motorized pneumatics

The chain is not necessary. It was just a quick way of hooking the motor to the differential. There is sometimes a delay in the system because the pump is such a small load even when the valve is closed. One way around this is to give the output (...) (14 years ago, 11-Aug-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Motorized pneumatics

Hello Nathan, Is there a technical reason you use a chain link between the motor and the differential grear? Would it be unsave to engage the gears directly in this case? With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen. (14 years ago, 11-Aug-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Motorized pneumatics

(...) Hi Nathan, I really like your solution. I've seen a number of automated vales, but almost all had the drawback that they could generate considerable stall load on the motor. This solution appears to be much more efficient. Jetro (14 years ago, 11-Aug-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Motorized Excavator - expensive!!!

(...) For a very long time (too long according to many) LEGO has used a conversion rate of 1Euro=1USD when the actual currency conversion is quite different. At this moment, 160Euro=209USD. The case of the Crane Truck was especially 'painful' as (...) (14 years ago, 11-Aug-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Motorized Excavator - expensive!!!

I wonder why the US price for the Motorized Excavator is so high. See the comparison to last year's flagship product: 8043 - Motorized Excavator USA Price $200 Europe Price 160euros 8258 - Crane Truck USA Price $150 Europe Price 160euros I used the (...)   Motorized pneumatics

I haven't posted in this forum since 2008 and haven't built much, but upon looking at the new 8043 Excavator set at Toy's R'Us, it became apparent that although the new linear actuators dramatically simplify the process, they are not the only (...) (14 years ago, 10-Aug-10, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) There exist programs (not sure where) that can convert a video file into a series of still images. From there, it could be converted into a set of building instructions. (14 years ago, 17-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) I found the files. The trick is that they NOT in the directory which is installed on your hard drive when you install the software, they remain on the CD so you have to look inside the ISO file. Since these are all video files (MOV), it is (...) (14 years ago, 16-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) The building instructions are contained in .mov files. (yeah, I know, not really practical, but it's what you can get.) The files are located under /shared/build. Jetro (14 years ago, 15-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) I downloaded the image and installed the software, but I can't find any files that seem to represent the building instructions, even with hidden files shown. Which directory are the file in? Eric Albrecht (14 years ago, 15-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) XP doesn't like the Cybermaster CD because o a compatibility issue with QuickTime. You can still get access to the building instructions though. Just make sure you change folder properties so it'll show hidden files and folders. Jetro (14 years ago, 13-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Hello again, It is a dutch version of cybermaster software. And it needs to be run on windows 98 or something like that.
