  Re: Motor problem

Hello Magnus, (...) From the symptoms you describe I would say you need "a bigger battery box". Battery boxes (and motors too) contain a current limiting device. It is a resistor whose value increase (a lot) with temperature. When you start your (...) (16 years ago, 14-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Motor problem

Hello, I wondered if any motor-savvy Technic experts out there could help me out with a problem. I'm building a helpicopter, and am powering two rotors plus a light and sound double red light with a single old motor: (URL) a light and sound type (...) (16 years ago, 14-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Ross, Check these pics out....the first one is my favorite "boom flex" photo, and the second one is a pic of the boom flexing on the original cc8800-Twin! Enjoy... (URL) (16 years ago, 10-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) You mean plastic bends?? Dang :) I actually have had a good bit of success stiffening up the boom. The majority of the give in the boom was coming from the point where the sections are pinned together. The axles were flexing and letting the (...) (16 years ago, 10-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Crane...

(...) Ha! You're not a real crane builder till you've had at least one massive failure ;) Looking good Alvin. And you'd be surprised how much steel booms bend - check out this pic for an example: (URL) up a piece of paper along it to see the bend) (...) (16 years ago, 10-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8297 cool new parts

(...) Thanks for the compliment! Yes the 8297 has great and cool new parts. Mainly the new differential seems to be a good move forward, and kept hidden from our eyes until the new sets release. Many analysis from available photos and videos were (...) (16 years ago, 9-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

  8297 cool new parts

If you go to the very excellent www.technicbricks.blogspot.com you will find the building instructions for all three of this summers technic models. Looking at the instructions for the 8297 off roader I noticed that we will get a new differential (...) (16 years ago, 9-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: LEGO 7996 Crossover Motorized and Ballasted - Pictures

(...) I have altered the crossover controls to provide for an all-straight state by tweaking the springs in the switching rails. I have also motorized the crossover in such a way that it can be set straight, TL-BR or BL-TR with two switches (both (...)   Re: Bionicle prices == aiee

(...) You are corect, sir! Many of the containers are "1"; but some of the components are "5". Seattle recycling has a nutty rule for plastic, anyway: "Ignore the numbers—recycle only plastic bottles, tubs, jugs, and jars, plus shopping, newspaper (...)   Re: Bionicle prices == aiee

(...) I can't believe I'm even suggesting this, but if there's a triangle made of arrows with a number inside located somewhere on the bottom, that piece of plastic can indeed be recycled. But if you plan to keep the sets intact, but don't plan to (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jun-08, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Bionicle prices == aiee

(...) Indeed. I feel more than silly trying to find space to store it because I can't stomach putting that stuff in a landfill. With a couple of exceptions, the packaging can't be recycled and has also become egregiously un-MOCable and just plain (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jun-08, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Bionicle prices == aiee

Yoiks! The price for Bionicle canister sets has jumped 30% since the last release. Is it just the weak dollar? The piece-count is roughly the same. (16 years ago, 26-Jun-08, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: New Crane...

Impressive supply of Technic beams you have there :-) The completed model is going to be a monster. Nice job. (...) I've been checking out the design of the dual CC8800, and it appears to not really require that the turntable resists overturning (...) (16 years ago, 12-Jun-08, to lugnet.technic)
