  Re: Discontinued Air Tank

(...) It was mentioned in one of the NXT articles (wired I think) that Lego is trying to cut down on the number of parts they are producing. This is probably a victim of that policy, since it is probably a very low volume seller. (19 years ago, 31-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Discontinued Air Tank

(...) I can't answer any of that. All that I know is that the tanks I ordered are on backorder and that they are being discontinued. Anything beyond that is pure speculation. I assume that it is either: 1) they are expensive to make and are not (...) (19 years ago, 31-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Discontinued Air Tank

(...) Is this down to manufacturing/redesign issues (maybe we are going to get new air tanks) - or down to some other concern? I am not aware of any safety fault with it. Danny (19 years ago, 31-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

Here is a Brickshelf library : (URL) will find the first GBC we made at QuéLUG (a LUG located in Quebec, Canada). The Quicktime movie is quite heavy : 25MB. Here is the deeplink for it : (URL) (19 years ago, 30-Jan-06, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.technic)

  Discontinued Air Tank

FYI: According to PLE customer support, Lego has discontinued the air storage tank ((URL) and will not be manufacturing any more. All orders for this part are on backorder. -Duane (19 years ago, 30-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Check Out The 8285

(...) It looks perfect and it probably has a lot of pneumatic pistons. The scale is 1/17th or 1/18th which matches the projects I am working on. Work is busy, but seeing that upcoming set was a breath of fresh air! It looks 1/2 like Model team and (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Check Out The 8285

(...) My thoughts: Looks even more like a smaller version (because of barcode truck wheels) of (URL) this tow truck by grazi> which is in turn based on 5571. Which brings the question... Is 8285 a NK product? If this is not real, how come the (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Should I lubricate my Lego motor?

(...) Both. Likely due to bad design and/or manufacture. Someone at TLC is supposed to be looking into it. But I do not know what is the outcome. C S Soh (19 years ago, 25-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Check Out The 8285

(...) I agree Vineet. It looks like a cross between the Airtech Claw Rig (8868) and the Tow Truck (8462). It even looks like it uses the large shocks in the rear as jack stands. My guess is this set will be out in July / August if prior year (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Check Out The 8285

(...) Just because Bricklink lists it as a 2006 set, doesn't mean it's going to be produced. I'd wait for a display or showing of similar from Lego to say it's actually going to be made... until then, don't get your hopes up. (19 years ago, 24-Jan-06, to lugnet.technic)
