  Re: Simple locking mechanism

(...) Nope, those are garage doors, rubber-band actuated ;-) I just wanted to make good replacement for those expensive lamel garage doors parts, so I basically copied the doors I have in my garage. The problem is that also in reality the doors (...) (20 years ago, 21-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion - Status Report

(...) Aye it shall, even if I have to throw large amounts of $ at Lego to get the parts to do so.. it shall! It seems my Lego collection is too eclectic to have enough to finish it right now.. but I'm working on one... (20 years ago, 21-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

(...) I don't think Kevin knows how to use LDraw. :) Kevin, we need to talk about the next 'step' for SSClagorpion... Steve (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Simple locking mechanism

(...) Hi Jindroush, I would try magnets. If it's a really large door maybe 2, but otherwise 1 would probably suffice. ROSCO (20 years ago, 19-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Simple locking mechanism

Hi, I have rather large 'doors' which tend to open by theirselves. I need something small (2x2x2 studs max) and simple which would lock the doors in close position. I think about usage of friction, I definitly wouldn't like something which creates (...) (20 years ago, 19-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion - Status Report

(...) 21 cyles per second is good. It will go much slower with 7 more legs. Do you plan on having all the legs be self cycling? How will the legs stay coordinated? I plan on one pison for vertical, and one (maybe two) for horizontal. Do you know the (...) (20 years ago, 19-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion - Status Report

Well I have a leg design at current using 2 large cylinders that gets ~21 cycles/minute with 1 leg and a 6 way radial pump (I don't have enough pumps to fill out the full 12 way...) but it's sturdy and strong and fully self cycling...the problem is (...)   Re: SSClagorpion - Status Report

Hi Joseph, There is not much for new news. I have done some study of "limited throw" pneumatics. One of the things that makes the larger pneumatic pistons slower than the small ones is the 6x volume difference compared to small pistons. The travel (...)   Re: F1 with transmission (was: Ferrari)

(...) Hehhe, I noticed your clever solution some time ago, but I sad it would be a little hard for TLC :) This also due to the fact that they want a clean solution... (20 years ago, 17-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Misunderstanding

One problem with communicating on the internet is that it is easy to take what people say out of context. No one has said anything bad about Crowkillers. They just wondered if the Ferrari was a joke he made up. If someone asked me if I was playing a (...) (20 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pneumatic Arm

(...) Yes it is surprisingly sturdy - I even built one with just #12 axles and no diagonal bracing, and it worked very well. But they allowed significant twisting, it wasn't enough to make them fail but I wouldn't like to push it. (URL) (20 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)
