Thanks for the ideas! I am very new to this site, it is nice to get
informative responses so quickly. I have been sorting by piece, as of now
they all fit in bags. I would say I have close to 3,000 legos. BUT, come
christmas it will almost double!! Still, not that many in the scope of
things. My girlfriend says I have too many legos, but when I point to
others with as many as some of you have, she lays off until I walk in the
door with another set. But back to the topic - I think it is a lot easier
to look for a blue 1x3 in a bag that only has 1x3's in it. And it looks
like most of you sort by brick - or are starting to. And I try to sort the
unique parts as best I can, still working that one out. I am looking foward
to the day when I have as many as some of you have!!

I am currently resorting to type of pieces and it makes it much easier to find a certain type or brick located in the "type of piece" box rather than shuffling through all my black brick boxes for a certain type of brick.

| Hi Mark, I would have to agree with Bram and recommend sorting by piece. At the beginning of awakening from my "dark Ages' I sorted by color, filled many plano boxes and then discovered finding the right part in all the "black" boxes was tedious at (...)
