Re: Should I Save the Boxes?

(...) Well from all the sets I got as a child, I don't have any boxes left. Right now I only save old boxes (pre-1995 for me) as well as boxes of specific themes I really collect. I am about Adventurers-complete, so I save all those boxes. Same for (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Hoard them like gold!

(...) Why would anyone want to sell a used LEGO set? :) Seriously, to offer another point of view... I have many of the boxes and instructions from my childhood sets. Some of these are now more than 27 years old. However, many of those sets also (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

  Re: Hoard them like gold!

(...) I would tend to disagree. My perception from when I was heavily bidding on eBay was that a box has only a small effect on set value (discounting MISB sets here). The way I saw it, the primary reasons a box increased value was: 1. the set may (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

Re: Should I Save the Boxes?

(...) Good evening Dan, At first I saved boxes. Then once my collection started to grow, in order to save room, I just saved the alternate models/ideas panel of the box (usually the back of the box.) Now after 300+ sets I don't even save the (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.storage)

  Hoard them like gold!

(...) Trust me on that, any used set you're trying to sell will see its value increased by a good 40% solely because of the box, even in bad shape. If you have the boxes of sets 6335, 1496 and 1497, I will buy them from you immediately! Boxes are (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

  Should I Save the Boxes?

Greetings! I have saved most of the boxes from sets I have purchased new, but now I am running out of room. I'm not exactly sure why I saved them in the first place. I don't want to get rid of them if there is a logical reason to save them. What do (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Iris carts on sale at Target this week

If you have standardized on the "Costco size" Iris carts, don't buy the ones on sale at Target this week - they are slightly smaller. If you have standardized on the slightly smaller ones carried at Staples/OfficeMax/OfficeDepot, these MAY match, (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jan-03, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: the not-so-incredible BOX-4-BLOX™

(...) I think the point is that once you have finished playing you stick all your lego in and then sort it. You then leave it in the boxes for next time, thus needing a lid Tim (22 years ago, 29-Jan-03, to lugnet.storage)

Iris carts on sale at Target this week

Target has the clear drawer, black or white frame doublewides for $16, single wides for $9.99. More interesting is that they have the blue frame, red/yellow/green drawer doublewides for $16.99, single wides for $9.99. These make GREAT Lego storage, (...) In lugnet.general, Matthew Gerber writes: ... (...) ... (...) ... Sometimes I buy time-savers that are so clever that I cannot dream of a way to improve on them. While Box-4-Blox is useful, and I use mine every time I part something out, it's far (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.storage)
