Arrrgh. Timothy Zahn was the first Expanded Universe writer and consequently
the least scrutinized. While the story is good Zahn butchers the Technology.
I swear he was thinking of inferior Star Trek Technology the whole time he was
writing his Trilogy. He describes and X-wing as having crappy Sub-space
trancievers instead of hyper-wave trancievers. Zahn described Turbolasers as a
continuous beam (like Phasers) instead of bolts like they really are. Kevin J.
Anderson's Jedi Academy Trilogy was IMHO much better than Zahn's. Don't get me
wrong Zahn's was a good story but the Technology blunders he made really
detracted from the Universe.

| Mike, The outrider is a ship much like the Falcon piloted by Dash Rendar, you find his exploits both in the "Shadows of the Empire" video game and novel by Steve Perry.
