The Battledroid is available in Germany for 59.99 DM at all Vedes
stores.

This is the 8001, right?

Yup that´s the one.

I learned that this was available (some places) in the UK for approx £20
as well.

Was ? not any longer ? I don´t know about here. It´s a special preview/presale
for Vedes toy stores. I asked to see their catalogue, to see the other new
sets, but TLG hasn´t released a "sales"-catalogue for the shops yet.

I find this price a tad expensive.  I mean, the 8001 doesn't really seem
to have that many parts.  Perhaps twice as many parts as a Slizer?  Or
perhaps I'm misjudging the size of the droid.

I´m not into slizers, but it does have a lot of parts. A lot of small parts,
like the Midstorms R2D2. The parts a packed in 3 numbered polybags. I can put
up some scans if anyone is interested.

I'll be looking forward to the launch of the 8002 Destroyer Droid, BTW,
as it seems to be extraordinary good for Technic parts.

Not only parts, it´s a cool model as well ;o)
