After QGJ tries the mind trick, Watto says "Do you think you're a Jedi or
something?"  I don't think he was really picking up on Qui-Gon's Jedi-ness.
QG's statements weren't blatantly wierd, they could have been interpreted as • a
person trying to push for his own side.  I noticed this little quibble when • I
saw the movie, but upon further reflection, I don't think it's a nit.

Okay, but right after Watto says that, doesn't he say something along
the lines of: I'm a (XXX), jedi powers don't work on me, only money.  XXX
being whatever race he is which i can't recall.  I took this to mean that
Watto realized that QGJ was a jedi and was telling him that his powers would
not work on his race.  Besides that doesn't everyone know that lightly waving
your hand in front of someone as you speak is the universal calling card of
the jedi mind trick?  ;-)     -Rich

While he did say that, I got the impression that Watto was inferring "Just in
case you happen to be a Jedi, I'm immune, but I don't think you're a Jedi,
because you strike me as being rather stupid and reckless."  As to the waving
of the hand thing, I've been trying that for years, and the only person it
works on is my dog, who tends to be distracted by moving objects, anyways :-)

Point taken.  I guess you could see it either way.

To bring this back to lego, I think a minifig of Watto, or almost any of the
other alien characters would rock.  The Sebulba plastic lump was a travesty.
They could have used longer than minifig arms, but with the standard minifig
sockets and roundish 1 stud connectors so the hands could connect.  The legs
would have standard minifig hands to replicate the prehensile feet.  Watto
could be a normal minifig torso with a neck connector to attach the wings. • His
head would be non-standard (ala Jar Jar) and the feet would be an extra plate
or something like that.  Having only seen the movie once, I don't recall what
his feet looked like.  I'd love to see Jabba the Hutt done in LEGO, but • getting
bricks to look that blobby would be hard.

Sebulba really does suck.  They should have made him in a style similar
to the monkey from the old pirate sets.  It would be great if they would
release a SW figure pack.  They could put a sebulba type alien, a watto fig.,
a couple of gungans and a couple of battle droids.  They really should make a
greedo type head, it would just fit over a regular minifig torso and legs.  As
far as Jabba goes, he would probably be a one piece hunk of ABS like a rounded
BURP.  I would be satisfied if they made him in a style similar to the
dragons.  One main head and body piece with 2 movable arms and a movable tail
section.      - Rich
