It's one of the numbers in the LEGO Direct portion of the set number scheme. Like 10000 Guarded Inn or 10019 Blockade Runner. James

(...) Ahh, ok - I forgot about the Blockade Runner. Nearly all Starwars sets were in the 71xx number range (including the UCS sets), so I thought 10026 seemed peculiar. -Bryan (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.starwars)
