  Re: Thats no moon!!!

(...) It's a shame that LEGO goofed and made the Death Star and mini Executor at two different scales. The second Death Star is not 160 km in diameter, as the model's label states. It is in fact about 900 km in diameter. (20 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Cloud City Shuttle

(...) Here are my Top Ten BS explanations (endorsed by Lucas(1) himself): 10. Focus groups respond better to the meatier “twin pod” than to the wimpy “single pod” version 9. The two-pod model is actually the instructor/student training vehicle 8. A (...) (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

  Re: Cloud City Shuttle

(...) Sorry, you're not getting any B.S. from me. I've actually started on this moc as a standalone hovercraft of sorts. But I had two of the windscreens and the other odd red piece that came out to what it is. I'll probably try to change the design (...)   Re: Cloud City Shuttle

Nice MOC! My question is why the twin pod design? I've always wondered what the purpose of a twin pod design in the cloud car has if there is only one engine between the two. I could see a benefit to the car if the pods were detachable, but one (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: [OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear?

Not too geeky for me! I love this sort of stuff; it helps us visualize our lego models. Accurate measurements help in the design process. Keep it up! (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: [OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear?

(...) This article: (URL) gives it as ~17.6km, and states: "2004: The reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Trilogy by James Luceno corrects the record of the Executor's length: nearly a dozen times the length of a star destroyer. (...) 10-11 Imperial Class Star Destroyers long has been my understanding, which would mean that the Lego ISD would be about the length of a SSD when compared to the Mini ISD Leg Godt Travis Matheson (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: [OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear?

(...) According to starwars.com it is 12.800 meters: "The size of a Super Star Destroyer has vacillated in numerous publications, starting with an eight-kilometer length in 1984's A Guide to the Star Wars Universe. The latest measurements peg the (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: [OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear?

(...) I dunno, it sounds like it makes sense. I mean, imagine how big a Boeing 747 looks at 50,000 feet (I get about 1/8th of a degree, assuming 70.7m length for a 747). Actually, considering how crasily long many clouds are, I wouldn't be suprised (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

[OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear?

OK, this is WAY geeky, but I just thought I'd share... This was triggered by a cloud visible at sunset a couple of evenings ago. It was long and triangular, and took up about 5 "hand-widths" at arms length. I started thinking, how close (or far (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)
