This article: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/ssd5mile.html gives it as ~17.6km,
and states:
"2004: The reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Trilogy by James
Luceno corrects the record of the Executor's length: nearly a dozen times the
length of a star destroyer. In other words, it is at least 11 miles long, but
not quite 12 miles. All newer sources should include the corrected length."
11 miles = 17.7km. It's one of those things people are going to disagree about,
I guess. Anyhow, regardless of size, it'd have to be in a pretty low orbit (or
atmospheric, even) to appear as large and impressive as the image I have in my
"mind's eye."
