Re: Question about building an AT-AT

<<snip>> (...) One thought I've had is to have a Technic 9V motor with a cross axle connector to spin the wormgears. Just attach the motor, power it up 'til the joint is in place, detach the motor and work on the next joint... /Tobbe (URL) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Question about building an AT-AT

X-post: lugnet.build.mecha <<snip>> (...) I second that, my 1m+ Mecha has wormgear joints in the feet, knees, hips & neck and I had no gear rip what so ever.   Re: 30562 Panel 4 x 4 x 6 Quarter Circle?

(...) 6 bricks tall, 7.2 studs tall, 57.6mm With 4 together, you get a cylinder that measuers 8 studs by 8 studs on the bottom and 6 bricks tall. DaveE (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Question about building an AT-AT

(...) (URL) of the problem is that in the "real" thing all the weight is apparently supported on joint alpha (see diagram). And unfortunately, that creates a whole heck of a lot of leverage on that joint. Enough to snap and/or severely bend a lego (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  30562 Panel 4 x 4 x 6 Quarter Circle?

Hi! How many studs tall are the 30562 Panel 4 x 4 x 6 Quarter Circle found in 7106: Droid Escape? (URL) the 6 in 4 x 4 x 6 imply that it's 6 studs tall or 6 brick heights or what? Thanks! /Tobbe (URL) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 7130 What's the Deal?

(...) It was hard to get when it was in stores. Then it was discontinued early. Many who thought they could wait to get it were caught off gaurd with the early discontinuation of the set. What was left was horded and the people who missed out (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Question about building an AT-AT

(...) Hi Mychal, I ended up using friction pegs for the major joints, and relying on the weight of the AT-AT to hold the joints in position. In all, there are four major "joints" in the leg - the "hip" joint, which actually is located behind the (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 7130 Snowspeeder....

(...) One more thing: Excellent part selection. Sure, the main model is terrific but the best thing about the set is it's versatility. You can do so much with just the parts from this set. A while ago someone undertook a project to make as many SW (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  7130 Snowspeeder....

Aaron, I believe I speak for a lot of SW AFOLs by pointing out a few great qualities of this set. 1) Popularity. Everybody loves Empire Strikes Back, and the snowspeeder/Han and Luke rescue scene was sort of the equivalent to the podrace sequence of (...) (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 7130 What's the Deal?

(...) Many people have a very high opinion of this set. Maybe because it looks so great without using a lot of specialized peices. In this regard it is more of a purists set. Hi all, I was looking at my cloud car today and comparing it to the set inventory for it at (URL) says there are 2 red 2x12 plates in the set, but mine has 2x10 plates instead. Could someone check their cloud car to verify this? Thx, Bryan (22 years ago, 22-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)
