Well my take on it is that the docking standard was for capital ships and
dock/bases, not for small ships. That is why I opted for a 6 wide sliding door
docking port. I made the design as compact as I could for smaller capital
ships. Anything that would be small enough to not warrent use of the port I
would expect to simply land in the hanger bay. I should know better than to
assume everyone would think this way of course. After all the whole point of
Lego is to allow each of use to play their own way. What we need in addition
to a standard ship to ship port is a ship to hacth port for smaller ships.
