Do you have some obsession with size?

I'm sorry to say this...

But I'm not really that inspired or amazed by your Gundam. I mean sure the size
is huge, but what else is there. The arms on your mecha look way too thin, the
hands are too small, the head is way too large, the shoulders are half built...
Sure, you might have reached the height benchmark, but you sure did sacrifice
looks, among other things such as movement of the limbs.

To me, a good LEGO model is something that has a great design. The whole point
of building with LEGO is to make something that, well looks cool. I'm not
saying that your mecha isn't cool, I'm just saying that all you seem to care
about is reaching a certain height in your model. To me, a cool LEGO Gundam can
be 10 cm tall, or 22 inches tall, as long as it looks good and is complete. But
your Gundam is 4 feet tall, yet lacks certain things that make a Gundam a
Gundam (see above paragraph).

Now I know I'll probably receive flames by posting this, and I know that you
can build whatever you want to build, but I'm just trying to give a little
constructive criticism.

If you have a rebuttal to anything I say in this post, well let me hear it!

I am glad you like it.  I hope that one day I can go on the Internet and find
20 Lego Gundams by at least 10 different builders that make my ZERO look like • a
little ant.
Have fun building.

At 12:08AM Pacific Time Neo-Oz military officials have finally released
additional images of Gundam ZERO.  Major highlights: ZERO holding the • Gallet
Gun II, and the Gundam released from its support column.  You can see the
pictures at Neo-Oz's main web site:

Or directly through here:

Specs of the Gundam ZERO:
Height: 4ft
Width: 3ft
Weight: Unknown (estimated at 8 pounds)
Specials: The whole Gundam has only 2 worm gears and none of the parts • have
been modified (I call it mutilated) or "adapted" to fit ZERO's purpose. • The
Gundam is held together by an internal frame (of which I am rather proud) • built
entirely out of 2 old Technic sets and standard System parts.  (Note: the • older
Technic sets have much tougher black pins).  Although the frame could • really
use a few worm gears for added stability, it works fine without them.  I • hope
that since I have proven it is entirely possible to build a very large • Gundam
using primarily Castle and Pirate sets that other builders follow suit in
Gundam construction.
Just one more thing, Neo-Oz scientists have noticed strange anomalies • around
the sun of their star system.  A large magnetic burst is scheduled for • June 7
(I am leaving the country) which will completely cut of their planet from • the
rest of the universe.  If you have any question or comments, well, now is
the time.

Enjoy

I'm sure everyone will be very surprised, but... I agree with Mladen in this instance. Yeah, maybe he didn't pull any punches, but I have to say that I agree with his general sentiment. However, Bobby does have some nice features... I think the head (...) (24 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

I think the idea here is that he made creative use of the pieces he had rather than going out and spending a bunch of money to get pieces. My personal building style is in mini-fig scale with lots of detail, but that doesn't mean I dislike other (...) (24 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)
