Im feeling a bit underwhelmed, personally. I loved the classic Space sets
way back, of course, and was quite fond of the NASA/Discovery line a few
years ago. Id really like to see some Space sets with a more realistic
near-future space exploration feel to them (or even some historical sets,
like something based on the Mercury program), instead of this pseudo-Star
Wars stuff theyre cranking out again. (Thats what the Star Wars sets are
for!)
Oh well. Its still better than no Space sets at all.

Yeah, I definitely agree with the opinion that a return to exploration-based
space sets would be cool. Should have been something like Mars Mission 2025,
pehaps with a modular interplanetary vessel (big set), maybe some robot support
cargo-vessels (or a regular Earth-Mars ferry), some landers and other surface
vehicles (small & medium), and a base (big), etc. Could have an exobiology lab,
too, looking for possible subseruface microbes. This time with ruddy-colored
Mars crater plates. Another line of sets could be oriented toward Martian polar
exploration (a la Ice Planet), or Valles Marinaris.
Ill just have to live with what I can get, I suppose... Indeed, most of the new
line of sets could be modified into exploration with minimal effort, I suspect.
:o)
