    Moonbase corridor ideas —Jon Palmer
While building a new demo-module for the Moonbase page I started thinking about ground level module corridors. I wrote a big post about it in my blog. Check it out and tell me what you think: (URL) [ j o n :: p a l m e r ] lego weblog | creations (...) (20 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general) !

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Jason S. Mantor
Welcome back John : ) You're on the right track here. I played with this same idea a while back. and came to a simmilar conclusion. I agree that the second method is best. -JSM (...) (20 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Tony Hafner
(...) 1 floor away from the normal corridor. One thing seems a bit off, though- you've got plates in your red/white height stacks. It looks like you've got a 2x3 plate at the very bottom, and 2x4 plates in between levels. That makes it look like the (...) (20 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Jon Palmer
(...) Sweet. The more I look at the ground floor corridors the more I love 'em in their own way. (...) Bram mentioned this too but they really are lined up right. There are 2 red 2x2 plates above each yellow 2x4 plate. I may make a better version of (...) (20 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Jason Spears
(...) I think having a ground floor level could be quite neat. I like the second version better. Keep the spacing the same. I do wonder about the little courtyards that could be formed by a block of 4 moonbases all with ground floor cooridors. The (...) (20 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Jon Palmer
(...) Actually now that you say that I kind of like the idea of courtyards if they happened. And remember the figs can always go in and out another door or airlock. (20 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Kevin Heckel
(...) Or they could simply jump out, depending on which moon they happen to be on. Low gravity and all. (20 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Jon Palmer
(...) Another reason why building things on the moon is such a cool idea. (20 years ago, 28-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Why not make a service corridor on the bottom wide enough for vehicles? R06 "Jon Palmer" <jon@zemi.net> wrote in message news:IFJ2wH.1DyC@lugnet.com... (...) (20 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Jon Palmer
(...) A few people are mentioning this. It seems like the wide-corridor topic is popping up again. I've always thought wide corridors would do more harm than good, but... Should we add a ground-level wide corridor? For that matter, should we add a (...) (20 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Leonard Hoffman
(...) I agree with Jon. Everyone wants a different width for wide corridors, and what if no one else builds wide corridors? Interiors of moonbases are rarely viewable anyways.. I just don't really see the point. -Lenny (20 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Jon Palmer
(...) This post right here more or less seals it with me that we should stick with one corridor size. :) (20 years ago, 28-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Nick Kappatos
(...) Ground level corridors could be wider, that shouldn't be an issue. My vote is for an interior width of 8-12 studs. But I object to any connections above the current height on the following grounds: 1) building connections higher distracts from (...) (20 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: Moonbase corridor ideas —Jon Palmer
(...) I'll have to disagree. Also, this has been part of the standard for some time. But I do feel for the short modules. I think it's just a matter of placing the shorties in a good spot. (...) Well, they can still just build at the normal height. (...) (20 years ago, 28-Apr-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)
