I think having a ground floor level could be quite neat. I like the second
version better. Keep the spacing the same.
I do wonder about the little courtyards that could be formed by a block of 4
moonbases all with ground floor cooridors. The “courtyard” would quite possibly
be inaccesable. Except this is space, so one could jet pack in or something.
Probably not an issue.
