Greetings all,
I give you the monastery, the latest MOC from the Galactic Inquisition.

In the interest of efficiency, I thought Id reply to everyone at once here.
First of all, Id like to thank everyone who took the time to check out my MOC
and who posted comments. Also, thanks to everyone for all their praise, and for
the terrible puns, they were well recieved. Id like to thank the academy for
the Brammy...
I appreciate all the suggestions on how to make the interior more monastic. I
originally wanted to put an altar in where I put the Good Book, but I couldnt
come up with a design that I was happy with. I should probably try and work one
up with the Book and a cross. As far as the rest of the interior goes... I was
thinking of monasteries in their medievel purpose, which was transcription of
bibles and other books. I tried to modernize that purpose by replacing all the
books with efficient terminals. The idea there was to try and stay in keeping
with the utilitarian ideal of the Inqusition. Of course, this ideal didnt
preclude the presence of kegs... These guys arent directly involved with the
Holy Crusades, at least as far as direct contact. This operates more as an
intelligence coordinating facility, tracking ships and intercepting
transmissions.
Questions about the fighters: The magnet on the top of the fighter is for use in
a Cathedral Shaped carrier thats in progress. They are VTOL, and armed with two
light vulcan cannons.
To Kevin Heckel, thanks so much for creating your awesome floating islands.
Theyre awesome, and inspirational, I wish I had gotten a chance to talk to you
about them at Brickfest. And yeah, a cyber monk would be pretty fantastic.
How much tan is in here? Alot, all that I had left from 8 yodas after building
this Then I went to
brickshelf, and when I ran out this weekend, I hit PaB. And I thought tan would
be an easy way to go for the rock too! I would like to see other peoples takes
on this idea though, so go for it, if youre considering it.
And Keith, thanks for the smack, its appreciated too. And yeah, the asteroid
belt image is pretty poor, it was the best I could find with little effort, and
the photoshopping was just a slapdash job.
Thanks again to everyone,
-Dan Rubin

| Hi Daniel I know Im a little late with this post, but Id just like to say that you got a nice monastery there although Id preferred if the asteroid were made out of dark grey rock instead of yellow cheese. (sorry for rubbing in it folks!) But Im (...) (20 years ago, 17-Oct-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
