Pioneer ship

It’s packed with fun. It does almost everything. The Pioneer includes many features to look at and figure out. Interoperability. Rock on Snow Daddy.

The Pioneer was designed with all kinds of cargo uses in mind. Mecha, military, and civilian. The hatches on Pioneer are all designed at Moonbase standard. That means that when she gets to planetfall, she can drop off her cargo container and that cargo container can be docked to the moonbase. (If an empty container is available, she can take that container away with her. If a gangway is available the Pioneer can dock directly to the moonbase.

I looked at every pic and found all kinds of neat things. Stuff I had to look twice at to realize. The execution of this kind of modular transport system is fun to see.

There’s all kind of stuff to see so take your time, One thing not real noticible by the pics is the electrics in the forward cargo hold. There are lights and the little red sqares on the floor flash sequentially from front to back.

That part is so cool. The extending lift rig. Nice. The Cargo Container Module has a very cool sliding rig on the ceiling, very cool. I like how you used black on the undersides and elswhere on the ship.

This is easily the biggest creation of mine to date. Length is 4’, wingspan is 4’, hight is 18”

Ya, be careful when you pick it up, ya know, back pain is a killer.

I think I’ll just let you guys look.

Enjoy.

Mark

Great benchmark work. The bar has been set. I’ll get you.

;)

Oh, hey I have a question: With this big of a build, how did it impact your collection? Did it take a big dent out of it? Do you feel you still have key parts to make more stuff? I see you have created a handful of new Mecha to include with the Pioneer, but has it consumed the better half of your collection? How much of an impact did it have? Did you have to search out special parts like at the LEGO Store or send away on Brick Link? What was it like to gather so many parts for this large ship and container system?

Just curious, I’d like to know.

(...) Well, let's see, I'm just about out of red brick, plate, slope and tiles. Spite two trips to the pick a brick and two purchases on bricklink. I found myself emptying drawers out of my drawer system so freed up some space there. Didn't run out (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
