Ryans assembly is a way that he worked out, and yes he did name it after me
(whatta guy :) although Ill let him comment on his own experimentation
process.
The way he figured out is not the way I did it. I didnt use the part you
mention either. But since there seems to be more than one way to do it, Im
not going to divulge my method here just yet: I want to see how others do it
:-)

Final word : I have to try and build this one, the SNOT you use to hold /
open the canopy looks very interesting.

It was fun to figure out, and for that scale and functionality, SNOT is the
only way to go.

Like Tom says, experiment with it. Try and find new ways to do it. Between he
and I, we have two solid ways of making those two pieces fit together, and Im
willing to bet that someone will come up with some other surprise technique to
make it work.
My method owes partial credit to Steve Runnels who suggested tires to hold the
elements together. As you can see, thats the key for my trick. If you havent
tried it for yourself already, its pretty strong; those pieces arent going
anywhere, short of a smash on the floor. I replicated Toms technique (which
hell cough up for you guys eventually) and his works very well too. The tire in
my trick holds the two pieces together slightly stronger than his method.
I forgot to delete those pics out of my gallery, I had meant to wait until Tom
debuted his moc and shared his genious idea. whoops :-S
